STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT ON LIFE SKILLS IMPLEMENTATION

The Adolescent Girls Initiative For Learning and Empowerment, Kaduna State met with critical stakeholders on the implementation of life skills training using the safe spaces approach.
The AGILE Project has commenced the implementation of life skills training in 19 schools which will be scaled-up to additional 79 schools in year 1.
The life skills training covers four main modules including:
1. Conflict resolution, self-determination, confidence building, negotiation and leadership
2. Health promotion, nutrition, reproductive health, basic hygiene, and menstrual hygiene management
3. Approaches to prevent, mitigate and respond to GBV/SEA, linkages to referral system for additional social services;
4. Awareness raising and climate change adaptation approaches and skills
The objective of the interaction is to further explain the concept of life skills to the Stakeholders and agree on the modalities of implementation peculiar to each of the schools among others.
The Permanent Secretary, Kaduna State Ministry of Education, Senior Staff of the Ministry and Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority and Principals of 79 Schools attended the session.
