Kaduna AGILE Trains 80 Officers on Monitoring and Evaluation

The objective of the training is to strengthen the capacity of State and Local Government Education Quality Assurance and EMIS Officers in the following thematic areas:

  1. Achieve understanding of education data sources, processing, and management in monitoring
  2. Data management processes including in advocacy and sensitization monitoring.
  3. Utilizing the monitoring framework to track intermediate results on advocacy and stakeholder engagement.
  4. Capacity building of officers on using evidence-based feedback to collect data across all indicators.
  5. Build capacity of the state and local government education quality assurance and EMIS Officers on how to regularly monitor and measure the advocacy work on the project.
  6. Delivery of practical sessions on how to monitor and track progress, what has been accomplished through community sensitization and campaigns and what more remains to be done.
  7. Build capacity on best approach to achieve an effective monitoring of conventional and new media sensitization campaigns.
  8. Delivery of practical workshops on data management processes on challenges to M&E for advocacy are a result of the complexity and length of the path to eventual outcomes.

The training comprised of a total of 80 participants drawn from the Ministry of Education, Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Agency, Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and the 23 Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs).

The training provided participants with increased project monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems and tools that focus on achieving the intermediate result indicators, clearer understanding of the importance of data quality and credibility, best practices in handling and resolving unanticipated problems that may arise during monitoring, assess, and understand how best to engage key partners and stakeholders during data collection.

The 5 days training was delivered at Hotel Seventeen by Cloneshouse Nigeria Limited from 11th to 15th October 2022.
