Kaduna AGILE Engages Imams and Ulamas from Kaduna Metropolis
As part of the project’s community engagement strategy, the Kaduna AGILE Project team organized an interactive session with Jumu’at Imams from Kaduna Metropolis on Friday, March 1, 2024. The session was held at Butterfly Garden Suites and was attended by over 45 Imams from various communities in Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Chikun and Igabi Local Governments.
The purpose of the session was to inform the religious leaders about the objectives, components, and benefits of the AGILE Project, and to address any misconceptions or concerns they might have about the project. The session also provided an opportunity for the Imams to share their views and suggestions on how to promote girls’ education and empowerment in their communities.
The Commissioner of Education, Prof. Muhammad Sani Bello Mainan Zazzau, was the special guest at the event. He commended the Imams for their support and cooperation, and urged them to use their influence and platforms to advocate for girls’ education and empowerment. He also assured them that the AGILE Project is in line with the state government’s policy of providing quality and inclusive education for all.
The State Project Coordinator Hajiya Maryam Sani Dangaji highlighted the achievements and challenges of the AGILE Project so far, and thanked the Imams for their partnership and feedback. She also emphasized the importance of girls’ education for the social and economic development of the state and the country.
The session was a success, as the Imams expressed their appreciation and support for the AGILE Project, and pledged to disseminate the information and messages to their congregations and communities.
The Kaduna AGILE Project team is committed to engaging with various stakeholders and partners to ensure the effective and sustainable implementation of the project, and to achieve its goal of improving the lives and futures of adolescent girls in Kaduna State.
