International Day of the Girl 2022
adminThe Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project, Kaduna State on Tuesday 11th October 2022 joined the rest of the world to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the International Day of the Girl. The event included walk, drama, recitation of Poem and interactive session with the girls.
The International Day of the Girl celebrates the power of girls and highlights the barriers and constraints faced by girls as they navigate through adulthood. The theme for the 2022 celebration is “Our Time Is Now – Our Rights, Our Future.”
The Project Coordinator, Haj. Maryam Sani Dangaji during her remarks iterated that “The AGILE Project is here to empower our girls with the requisite skills to successfully navigate through adulthood”. She encouraged the girls to optimize the opportunities provided by the AGILE project, so they achieve their dreams and aspirations.
Other activities included the keynote address to the girls from the Gender Based Violence Consultant for the World Bank, Halima Serah McKenna Gellman.
